Living My Own Groundhog Day

A professional reluctantly shows up to work to provided services that are not truly wanted (as she calls it). This is her fourth year in this position, and she makes no effort to hide her frustration. On awaking the 'following' day she discovers that it's the same day again, and again, and again. First she uses this to her advantage, then comes to the realization that she is doomed to spend the rest of eternity in the same place, seeing the same people do the same thing EVERY day. If that sounds familiar, its because it is the plot summary for Groundhog Day (the movie) just reworded to fit my life. I feel like I have been living the same day, just about every day, with no end in sight. I keep trying to figure out how to make it stop, but nothing seems to be working. I wake up to be greeted by my eldest's bike, pants, shoes, and backpack by the front door. I wake her up to move them and she grumbles. I see a random plastic bag or two in some random spot along the ...

Who Am I?

I distinctly remember in the 7th grade starting a new school where only two other girls were outwardly into New Kids on the Block. I clung to their short lived friendship until I moved to another school a few months into the 7th grade. My new school had no one that loved New Kids on the Block. Side note: I never stopped liking NKOTB and I still loooooove Joey!!!!!!!!!!! I tried to do some research on conforming before writing this post. As research does, it turned into many different paths, but I will share what I believe based on what I found. I believe conformity is a part of our natural survival skills that we ...

Who Are You?

The most profound thing I have learned over the last few years is how amazing it is to know, accept, and love yourself. I have learned this through many avenues: reading, friends, teaching classes, etc. In this post, I would like to share some enlightening subjects and ideas with you. Personality I am sure most of us have taken a lot of personality test. I know I have. My favorite one so far is the one available on 16personalities.com . In my opinion, the best part about this site is the description of your personality and the fun titles they give them. I laughed so hard when I found out my personality is “The Commander” (ENTJ-A). Just the title, alone, fits me. However, the details provided showing the strengths and challenges in numerous aspects of life was enlightening. The parenting area was a gem. I often feel like there is something wrong with how I parent, but reading about my parenting style (which was spot on), I found the strengths in that style. This helped me see...
